Improving Apple Watch Battery while using WorkerSafety Pro

Tips for extending battery life while using WorkerSafety Pro on your Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Battery Usage

WorkerSafety Pro (WSP) for Apple Watch uses an Apple workout session to track movement and keep the app actively monitoring.

Benchmark tests suggest this may use approximately 10% of battery life per hour, depending on your Apple Watch model. At this rate, a fully charged battery would last about 10 hours.

Using Low Power Mode Effectively

Simply enabling Low Power Mode does not significantly reduce WSP app battery usage. However, for Apple Watches running watchOS 9.1 or later, Low Power Mode can be made more effective by enabling an additional feature that reduces the frequency of GPS and heart rate readings.

To enable this feature:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

  2. Scroll down and tap Workout.

  3. Tap ‘Fewer GPS and Heart Rate Readings’ to toggle it on.

Note:
This setting only works when your watch is also in Low Power Mode. Both must be enabled for it to take effect.

Important:
Benchmark tests have not yet been run with this new setting enabled, so its full impact on battery life is still being evaluated.
