Becklar's Location Tracking Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Becklar is committed to using your location data responsibly and only when it is absolutely necessary to help keep you safe.

Becklar only accesses your location when there is an active alarm on your device. Outside of an active alarm, Becklar does not track, collect, or use your location information in any way.

When Does Becklar Access My Location?

Becklar accesses your location data under one specific condition:

  • During an active alarm: When an alarm is triggered on your device, Becklar uses your location to help emergency responders or monitoring center agents locate you quickly and provide assistance.

Once an alarm is resolved or cancelled, location access stops.

When Does Becklar NOT Access My Location?

Becklar does not access or use your location in any of the following situations:

  • When the app is running in the background with no active alarm
  • During normal, day-to-day device usage
  • For advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes
  • When your device is idle or in standby

Why Location Access Is Required During an Alarm

When an emergency alarm is triggered, knowing your location is critical. Your location data allows:

  • Monitoring center agents to quickly assess your situation
  • Emergency services to be dispatched to your exact location
  • A faster, more effective emergency response

This access is limited strictly to the duration of the active alarm event.

Your Privacy at a Glance

  • Location used: Only during an active alarm
  • Location stored long-term: No continuous background tracking
  • Location shared: Only with your organization's assigned emergency contacts, authorized monitoring personnel, and emergency services
  • Location used for marketing: Never
