How Do I Create a New Sub-Group/Team on the Safety Portal?

This article demonstrates how to create a sub-group/Team on the Safety Portal.

Sometimes, admins may want to create sub-groups under their main orgs. This is especially helpful if a group of workers are on the same shift and you want that group to have the same settings (e.g. Start/Stop settings).

To create a sub-group/team:

1. Log in to the Safety Portal by visiting: https://safetyportal.becklar.com/dashboard/.

2. Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the main organization's name.

3. If there are already sub-groups or teams, they will be listed. If not, only the main organization will be listed. In the example below, there are already four sub-groups.

4. Hover to the right of the main org's name to reveal the options button. Then, click it.

5. Click "Add New Sub-Org."

6. Type the name of the sub-org.

7. Leave the box next to "Prevent members from joining this group/team" unchecked so that members can join that group. Otherwise, if you are creating the sub-group as a test, you can check the box.

8. Click "ADD."

9. The new group will be added to the list of sub-groups.

You can also create sub-groups within a sub-group, and so on and so forth. To do that:

1. Hover to the right of the sub-group to which you want to create another sub-group to reveal the options button. Then, click it. Afterwards, click "Add New Sub-Org"

2. Follow the instructions starting at "5" above.

3. After the sub-group is created, you will notice a drop-down arrow appear by the first sub-group. That means there is a sub-group under it. Click it to see the sub-group.

In this example, the admin added another sub-group called "Day Shift" under the just-created "North Eastern" sub-group.

Notice the drop-down arrows next to the sub-groups that were already created. That means they all have sub-groups under them.

You can click the drop-down arrows to reveal all the sub-groups.
