This article demonstrates how to request an emergency check-in on the Safety Portal.
An emergency check-in can be requested from two places in the Safety Portal: from the "Emergency Check-ins" tab and the "Worker Profiles" tab.
To request an emergency check-in from the "Emergency Check-ins" tab:
1. Log in to the Safety Portal by visiting: https://safetyportal.becklar.com/dashboard/
2. Click "Emergency Check-Ins"
3. You'll see past emergency check-ins listed. If no emergency check-ins have ever been requested, the list will be blank.
4. Click "Request Emergency Check-In."
5. Check the box that says "Filter by Geographic Zone" if you only want to send the request to workers within a geographic zone (if not, proceed to step 10).
6. Click the "Make Rectangle" option or the "Make Circle" options to create a geographic zone (In the example shown, the admin clicked the "Make Circle" option.
7. Drag the circle over the area you want to request the emergency check-in from. You can click and hold the dots along the circumference of the circle to enlarge or decrease its size.
8. Alternatively, type an address in the search bar, then press enter to be taken to that location on the map.
9. Afterwards, click the "Make Rectangle" option or the "Make Circle" options to create a geographic zone (In the example shown, the admin clicked the "Make Circle" option.) Then, drag the circle over that location.
Again, you can click and hold the dots along the circumference of the circle to enlarge or decrease its size.
10. Type a message in the message box for the emergency check-in. It is limited to 200 characters to encourage conciseness.
11. Click the box next to "Send check-in request to sub groups/teams" to request the emergency check-in of all subgroups under the team for which you are currently creating the emergency check-in. In this example, workers in the Central, East, North, and West teams will receive an emergency check-in request because they fall under the parent team, "Becklar Workforce Safety." If not, leave that box unchecked.
12. Click the box next to "Prevent notification from making noise" if workers will be compromised when the emergency check-in notification makes a sound. If not, leave that box unchecked.
13. Click "REQUEST."
14. After clicking "REQUEST", an emergency page displaying details of the emergency check-in will open. It will contain information about the alarm, such as which users have checked in and which haven't.
15. Workers will be sent a push notification from WorkerSafety Pro about the emergency check-in.
16. After tapping the notification, workers will be sent to a screen on which they will see their admin's message.
17. They could either complete the emergency check-in by tapping "I'm OK," or they can "slide for SOS" if they need help. In this example, the worker tapped, "I'm OK."
17. Afterwards, workers will be brought to WorkerSafety Pro's home screen, where they can tap the "x" on the Emergency Check-in banner to make it disappear.
To request an emergency check-in from the "Worker Profiles" tab,
1. Log in to the Safety Portal by visiting: https://safetyportal.becklar.com/dashboard/
2. Click "Worker Profiles", then click "Request Emergency Check-In"
3. Follow the same steps above for requesting an emergency check-in through the "Emergency Check-Ins" tab, starting at step 3.
