How Do I Trigger an SOS on the Bivy Satellite Device

This article demonstrates how to trigger an SOS on the Bivy satellite device.

1. Hold the Bivy satellite device vertically with a broad, direct line of sight to the sky.

2. Monitor the “Signal” light towards the top corner of the stick. A solid green "Signal" light indicates a strong satellite signal. A flashing green "Signal" light indicates that the device is attempting to obtain a GPS location. A flashing yellow "Signal" light indicates a weak signal and a flashing red "Signal" light indicates no signal. 

   
3. Lift the red tab located at the bottom of the Bivy satellite device.
   
4. Press and firmly hold the SOS button until the status light stops flashing. This can take up to 10 seconds. 
   1. You may need to find an object, such as a key or pen, to press the button. You should hear and feel the button when it is pressed.
5. After the SOS is triggered, the status light will flash red.
