How Do I Use the Geofence Mode in the Safety Portal?

This article explains how to use the Geofence Mode in the Safety Portal.

Note: Only admins can configure Geofence Mode in the Safety Portal.

The Geofence Mode is used to geofence an area and trigger an action in WorkerSafety Pro upon entering or leaving that geofence. The actions that can be triggered on WorkerSafety Pro include:

  • Auto Start Work
  • Auto Stop Work
  • Only Send a Reminder (to start work)
  • Only Send a Reminder (to stop work)
  • Do Nothing.

Note: The WorkerSafety Pro app must be running in the background for work to Auto-Start/Stop based on the geofence.

To configure the Geofence Mode:

  1. Log into the Safety Portal by visiting "https://safetyportal.becklar.com/"
  2. Click on "Admin Settings."
  3. Click on "Start/Stop," then toggle the "Geofence Mode" switch to enable it.
  4. Click on "Make Zone" to display the Geofence circle on the map.
  5. Click and drag the circle to the desired location on the map. You can click and hold the dots along the circumference of the circle to enlarge or decrease its size.
    1. Alternatively, type an address in the search bar and press enter. Then, click on "Make Zone" to display the geofence circle. Click and hold the dots along the circumference of the circle to enlarge or decrease its size.

  10. Click the box next to "Apply Changes To All Subgroups" to apply this geofence to all subgroups under the team you are currently creating the geofence for. In this example, the Central, East, North, and West teams will have this geofence enabled for them because they fall under the parent team "Becklar Workforce Safety." Otherwise, leave that box unchecked.
  11. Click "Save."
