How Do I Use the Messaging Tool on the Bivy App?

This article demonstrates how to use the messaging tool on the Bivy app.

The following is demonstrated using screenshots from an iPhone. Please note that WorkerSafety Pro for Android will look nearly identical to the screenshots shown here.

Note: A Bivy satellite device must be connected to your Bivy app before you can use the messaging tool. View the SOS feature article for instructions on how to do so.

Each Bivy satellite device has a dedicated phone number. When you use the Bivy messaging tool, text messages will be sent from that number. It is located in the "STICK" tab on the Bivy app.

Have your emergency contacts save this number so they recognize messages as coming from you.

How To Use the Messaging Tool

  1. Open the Bivy app on your phone.
  2. Tap on the "MESSAGES" tab.
  3. Ensure that the Bivy satellite device has a satellite connection. The device is connected when the signal light turns green.


  4. Tap the icon in the upper right corner to create a new message.
  5. In the "To:" field, type your emergency contact's name (if you granted the Bivy app access to your contacts during setup) or their phone number. 


  6. Type a message in the text box, then tap the send icon.
  7. Your message will be sent, and its status will be displayed below.

  8. Your emergency contacts can also reply to your messages. Their responses will appear in the same conversation thread.
