This article demonstrates how to use the messaging tool on the Bivy app.
The following is demonstrated using screenshots from an iPhone. Please note that WorkerSafety Pro for Android will look nearly identical to the screenshots shown here.
Note: A Bivy satellite device must be connected to your Bivy app before you can use the messaging tool. Click here for instructions on how to do so.
Each Bivy satellite device has a dedicated phone number. When you use the Bivy messaging tool, text messages will be sent from that number. It is located in the "STICK" tab on the Bivy app.
Have your Emergency Contacts save this number so that when you text them, they know it is coming from you.
How To Use the Messaging Tool
- Open the Bivy app on your phone.
- Tap on the "MESSAGES" tab.
- Ensure that you have satellite connection on the Bivy satellite device. You'll know when the device has connection when the signal light turns green.
- Tap the icon in the upper right corner to create a new message.
- If you allowed the Bivy app access to your contacts during setup, simply type your emergency contact's name in the "To:" section and select that contact when it appears. Otherwise, type in your emergency contact's number.
- Type a message in the text box, then tap the send icon.
- Your message will be sent, and its status will be displayed below.
- Your emergency contacts can also reply to your messages.
