Overview

The Series X is a mobile personal emergency response system (PERS) designed for lone workers. It allows users to call for help with the push of a button and includes features such as fall detection, GPS location tracking, and 4G LTE connectivity on AT&T and Verizon networks.

This article explains how to connect a Series X device to a user in the safety portal.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following ready before starting:

  • Access to the safety portal with appropriate admin permissions
  • The Series X device powered on
  • The device's serial number or device ID (found on the back of the device or in the packaging)
  • The user profile already created in the safety portal

How to Connect the Series X Device to a User

  1. Log in to the Safety Portal
    Navigate to your organization's safety portal and sign in with your administrator credentials.
  2. Go to the User's Profile
    From the dashboard, locate and open the profile of the user you want to assign the device to.
  3. Navigate to the Devices Section
    Within the user's profile, find the Devices or Connected Devices section.
  4. Select 'Add Device'
    Click the Add Device button to begin pairing a new device to the user.
  5. Choose Series X as the Device Type
    From the device type list, select Series X. This tells the portal which connection method and settings to apply.
  6. Enter the Device ID or Serial Number
    Input the Series X serial number or device ID when prompted. This links the specific physical device to the user's account.
  7. Confirm and Save
    Review the details and click Save or Connect to complete the pairing. The device will now appear as connected under the user's profile.

Verifying the Connection

Once the device is connected, confirm the following to ensure everything is working correctly:

  • The Series X device appears as Active or Connected in the user's device list
  • The device's location is visible on the portal map (may take a few minutes)
  • A test alert can be sent and received successfully

Troubleshooting

The device is not showing as connected

  • Verify the serial number or device ID was entered correctly
  • Ensure the device is powered on and has cellular signal
  • Refresh the portal and check the device status again after a few minutes

Location is not updating in the portal

  • Confirm the device has a clear line of sight to receive GPS signal
  • Check that the device has an active data connection (4G LTE indicator on device)
