Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1: Activate T-Satellite Service
T-Mobile customers: Log into your T-Mobile account and check if T-Satellite is already included in your plan. If it's not, you can add it through the "Manage Add Ons" section of your account.
Non-T-Mobile customers: Sign up for T-Satellite at t-mobile.com/coverage/satellite-phone-service.
Step 2: Set Up eSIM (Non-T-Mobile Customers Only)
If you're not a T-Mobile customer, you'll need to set up an eSIM on your phone:
- Make sure your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM.
- Follow T-Mobile's instructions to download and configure the T-Satellite eSIM.
- In your phone's settings, enable automatic satellite connection in your data switching settings.
T-Mobile customers can skip this step — your existing SIM/eSIM already supports T-Satellite.
Step 3: Update and Configure WorkerSafety Pro
- Update WorkerSafety Pro to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Work with your supervisor to make sure your safety settings (check-in schedules, emergency contacts, alert preferences) are configured correctly.
- Do this before heading to a remote location — you want everything set while you still have a strong cellular connection.
Step 4: Test the Connection
Before relying on T-Satellite in the field, test it in a safe location:
- Go outdoors to an area with a clear view of the sky.
- Wait for your device to show "T-Mobile SpaceX" or "T-Sat+Starlink" as the network name.
- Start a work session in WorkerSafety Pro and verify that your safety protocols activate.
- Notify your supervisor, then practice sending a test alarm.
Tip: Testing should be done in an area with limited or no cellular coverage so your phone actually connects to satellite. If you're in a strong cellular area, your phone will use the cellular network instead.
How to Tell You're Connected to T-Satellite
iPhone users: Look for "SAT" displayed at the top of your screen, along with "T-Mobile SpaceX" or "T-Sat+Starlink" as the network name.
Android users: Look for a satellite icon at the top of your screen, along with "T-Mobile SpaceX" or "T-Sat+Starlink" as the network name.
If you see your normal cellular carrier name and signal bars, you're still on cellular — which is fine. The app works on both.
No Settings Changes Needed in WorkerSafety Pro
You do not need to change any settings in WorkerSafety Pro. The app automatically detects when your phone switches to satellite and continues operating normally. Your existing safety configurations, emergency contacts, check-in schedules, and alert settings all carry over.
Cost
There are no additional fees from Becklar for using WorkerSafety Pro on T-Satellite. You will need a T-Satellite subscription from T-Mobile, which is included with some plans (Experience Beyond, Go5G Next) or available as an add-on. Contact T-Mobile for specific pricing details.
